Another guest post from one of my readers, her name is Ksyusha Bulgakova and she lives in Budapest, Ksyusha decided to share her impressions of life in Europe during the crisis and turbulent political situation with other travelers and guests of my blog, I recommend reading to the end, will interesting.

«It is impossible to know Budapest to the end, but it is impossible not to love it"- that's what the Hungarians themselves say, and at the age of 16 I was convinced that they were damn right. In his youth, the city seemed fabulous. Wizards were waiting for me around the corner, new adventures began with every turn. At 27, I again missed the sea, because we went to get to know Prince Buda and Princess Pest better. And it is not in vain

If you want to see orderly diagrams and clever stories, it's best to move on right away. But ... still, stay. If you decide to fall in love.

At a glance: architecture

Sunny Budapest is not only sunny, but also incredibly beautiful. This city is so beautiful both for its impressive monuments on the embankments and avenues, and for the little things that adorn the alleys. Every street in the city center will delight you with something unexpected. A fat policeman, a pleased Reagan, mischievous bas-reliefs, stone umbrellas, Odessa courtyards and romantic nooks - everything for quivering natures.

Walk along the Danube embankment, walk from the Royal Palace to the Church of St. Matthias, climb the Fisherman's Bastion, explore all the nooks and crannies of Budavar, touch the Art Nouveau on Andrássy Avenue and, of course, admire the parliament many, many times. Maybe you will be able to decide which coast is more beautiful, but still do not think for a long time, but rather make a wish, passing along the Chain Bridge in the daytime and at night. After all, after sunset, the city becomes special.

Each shore will give you its own story. Buda is amazing with opening views of the city, cozy alleys, where Hungarian legends await you at every step. Here is the church where Sisi and Fraz Joseph were married, nearby is the first royal residence, and here is the monument to St. Stephen, who gave Hungary Christianity.

Pest, as he should, looks like an elegant queen, because for 850 years the princess managed to acquire a regal face. Guided tours are now available in the parliament building, and the church of St. Stephen, after reconstruction, is striking in its decoration. Andrassy Avenue is amazing from the opera house, which Sisi loved so much, to Vaidahunyad Castle and the Museum of Fine Arts. By the way, it is here that Hungary reveals the secrets of its nature. Here kings, knights and heroes will shelter you from all adversity. Despite the monumentality, the ensemble gives incredible tranquility. Could it be otherwise, next to the heroes?

Gastronomic: wine and goulash

Tokay wine ... it is impossible to describe in words. Hungarian magicians dry grapes naturally, right on the branches. This drink can be a wonderful dessert or an addition to goulash.

As for Sir Goulash himself, I would not venture to recommend any particular establishment. Everywhere it is prepared in its own way: somewhere you will try a small pot of a hearty potion, somewhere it will be decorated with a bread cap, and in some restaurants a huge tureen with additional sauces and seasonings will be served. I assure you will love the nomad dish, even if the path to your heart is through art. I will tell you about art further.

  • Where to stay in Budapest →

Thoughtfully: art

Hungarian artists were a revelation for me, and how spoiled I am by Italian and French masters. Only 100-200 years old, and the Magyars managed to plug in the belt if not the first, then the second craftsmen for sure. You can wander around the fine arts museum all day long. Monumental battles, muslin beauties and Koro-style landscapes will amaze any connoisseur of beauty. As for the Renaissance, you can stay and paint the sculptures until the museum closes or the good Hungarians take you out.

Finally: Mount Gellert

Nowhere in the world is there such, only in Budapest. And behind these words hides everything that you just thought about. The citadel is almost destroyed, but the path to it is strewn with flowering trees, observation decks offering breathtaking panoramas, and funny Magyars who do not mind taking high-altitude selfies with tourists.

- Hello, grandma, hello, I'm in the best city on earth - this time I was telling the truth. After 10 years, the city dressed up for our meeting and penetrated deep into my heart.

Despite the post-war destruction, wounds peeping out every now and then on houses, shameful pages of history, Budapest remains the most unusual and complex capital of Europe (holidays in the EU). Like an elegant man, in an old frock coat, with a cane, of course, decorated with a handle in the shape of a parrot's head, in which all smart girls fall in love, tired of sugary pages. Once and for all.

Well, we got acquainted with a short story from Ksyusha, in turn, I can advise you to fulfill your dream, and despite the euro exchange rate, you can still save on flights and hotel reservations. You can find tickets to Budapest at the cheapest prices on Aviasales. As for inexpensive hotel accommodation, I recommend booking a hotel in Budapest through RoomGuru.

Be sure to check the prices for tickets, entertainment, accommodation, food in cafes and food in shops ...

I wish you great travels and I will be glad if you share the link to the article using social networks with your friends.
